New Release: 2014 Cristal Rosé Now Available At A Very Attractive Price

2014 Cristal Rosé is now available and according to wine-searcher.com you are now saving more than 11% compared to the world's cheapest

In 1974, 100 years after Cristal was created, former Roederer president Jean-Caude Rouzaud decided to create a rosé version of the mighty Cristal. To succeed in this, he selected Pinot Noir from old vines in some of the best Grand Cru fields in Aÿ. The ambitions were undoubtedly high and today Cristal Rosé is one of the absolute best Rosé Champagnes you can get your hands on - now the 2014 vintage has been released, and you can get involved right from the start, at a very attractive price.

Rosé Champagne: The Best Of Both Worlds

Few things are as extravagance and prestigious as Champagne, but if you still want to give it an extra notch of prestige, quality and luxury, you can look towards the pink drops in the rosé versions of the Champagnes. Rosé Champagne is per definition more labor and time consuming to produce, at the same time the producers usually produce significantly less of the pink versions than of the white ones. This in itself means that the price of these is higher, but it is also more the rule than the exception that the rosé editions are of higher quality.

At the same time, strong forces seem to be building up in Provence, which is to rosé wine what Champagne is to sparkling wine. Here, i.a. Chanel Group and LVMH bought up prestigious luxury manufacturers. They don't do this sort of thing just for fun, and should the rosé category become even more popular among wine lovers, it's hard to imagine that it won't also spill over into the rosé Champagne category. It doesn't get more exclusive than this - regardless of whether we compare with white Champagne or with ordinary rosé without bubbles.

Finely Cut And Crystalline To The Core, The 2014 Is Laced With Striking Vibrancy

These are the words of Antonio Galloni from Vinous about the newest Cristal Rosé on the market. And in fact, Vinous is also the only one of the most important critics who has so far assessed vintage 2014. 97+ points is the verdict, which in isolation is an impressive score, but seen through Vinous's glasses, it neither makes it a weak nor a strong vintage - but are there weak vintages of Cristal Rosé? They are hard to spot. View vintages from this millennium plus some benchmark vintages:

9.4% In Average Annual Return For Five Years In A Row

We have long preached that the Champagne category faces a huge upside as Asia develops a taste for the bubbly drops, while regular rosé is also expected to grow. But even if we still believe that the great potential lies ahead, Louis Roederer with their rosé prestige cuvée has nonetheless delivered solid returns if we look backwards. According to the British wine exchange, Liv-ex, the last 10 vintages of Cristal Rosé that have been on the market for a minimum of five years* have yielded an average return of 56.7% over the past five years. In other words, this means that they have given 9.4% in average annual return for five years straight.

Patience Is A Virtue That Rewards Those Who Master It

2014 has been released quite recently, which means that for now, relative to the nature of Cristal Rosé of course, there is plenty available on the market. This means that data from wine-searcher.com shows that the number of offers for this particular wine is increasing. The same applies to vintage 2013, which has been on the market for a year, but if we look at the 2012 and 2009 vintages, the trend is reversed. The number of offers for 2012 Cristal Rosé has been halved since the peak approx. two years ago, while the number of offers for the 2009 vintage has fallen by over 70% since the peak in October 2018. The average asking price for these two, on the other hand, has risen sharply in the meantime, meaning that for the 2009 vintage it has risen 43% since the peak, while it has increased by 30% on the 2012 vintage - and these are still "newer" vintages where, according to Wine Advocate, the 2009 vintage has only just entered its drinking window.

In other words, this means that this is a patient investment, where historically we experience that the price increases as the supply is reduced. But why not just buy after a few years? The earlier you buy, the greater chance there is to buy in at the lowest possible price and create the best possible starting point for your investment.

And here you invest right now with a discount of 11.1% compared to the cheapest price on wine-searcher.com which at the moment costs € 450.

RareWine Invest’s Opinion

A new vintage means opportunities for those who see the potential in getting into a case early and benefiting from the best possible starting point – the price will probably never be as low as it is now.

Louis Roederer is a super brand and their prestige cuvée Cristal is a story of towering quality and prestige all by itself - if it still needs that extra something, then there is only one thing to do and that is to choose Cristal Rosé.

Despite solid historical returns, it is the future that is really exciting – not only for the Champagne category as a whole, but also for the rosé category – and in both categories it doesn't get more exclusive than rosé Champagne.

Despite this being a new release, we have managed to source a small batch at an exceptionally good price, saving you €50 per bottle, compared to the world's cheapest price on wine-searcher.com.

In other words, this is your opportunity to join in from the start and at a particularly attractive price.
