The Best Fuligni Riserva To Date - Invest While Quantities Are Available

Its predecessor has achieved a price increase of +59% in less than two years. Did we say that this one scores better? Read much more about the potential of the 2016 Fuligni Ri

It is no miracle that the world's best Brunellos are sought after. They are, because the best are obviously dominated by quality. It is also because the price allows most people to afford it. This is also the case in the present investment tip, where Fuligni with their 2016 Brunello Riserva is available for investment: the best from their side to date, even surpassing the exceptional 2015!

James Suckling, Wine Advocate and Vinous are thrilled. The release is brand new. The price is good and historical returns on the 2015 are sublime.

The Fuligni Family Story

The history of the Fuligni family dates back to the 14th century, when the family with roots in Venice moved to England. This was indirectly the start of their present-day activity as Tuscan wine producers.

The Fuligni family supported the English crown and royalty with various activities, and as a result of hundreds of years of involvement and networking with the royals and nobles, in 1790 the family received a large piece of land in Maremma in the southwest of Tuscany. Here the family began their wine adventure.

In the early 1900s, Giovanni Maria Fuligni moved to Montalcino and began producing wine here, as the family had done for 100 years in Maremma.

The Riserva Of The House In Sublime Quality

Today, the Fulignis estate covers 100 hectares on the western side of Montalcino, 14 of which are cultivated with vines. Paolo Vagaggini manages Fulignis' vineyards and enjoys the reputation of being one of Tuscany's most accomplished Sangiovese experts. Together with Roberto Fuligini, he makes the family's great wines.

In fact, Fugilini produces grappa, olive oil and wine. Their absolute best product is their Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, which in the best vintages is also made as a so-called Riserva, which is the one available for investment here - even in a particularly excellent vintage.

The 2016 Vintage Tops The Fuligni Throne

The last time RareWine Invest was able to offer Fuligni Riserva for investment, it was the 2015 vintage. Here it was pointed out that the wine critics from Vinous are notoriously famous for being harsh in their reviews of Italian wines, so the 95 points awarded to the 2015 vintage was a particularly good assessment.

Vinous awards a whopping 98+ points to the 2016 Fuligni Brunello Montalcino Riserva, which is the highest score yet for Fuligni from Vinous.

The Wine Advocate awards it 97+ points. James Suckling awards a full 99 points, placing the 2016 vintage at the same high level as the 2015 vintage.

Most recently, the 2015 vintage, with 97.3 points across the critics' scores, surpassed the magical 2010 vintage (96.7 points) and took the spot as the best Fuligni Riserva to date.

The 2016 vintage scores a whopping 98 points across the world's most influential critics, sending it to the top.

With High Points Comes Demand

It is certainly no wonder that the demand for the world's best wines is high. So when respected critics praise a particular vintage from a particular producer, the world's wine eyes automatically turn to it.

Therefore, it is to be expected that the 2016 Fuligni Brunello Montalcino Riserva will be a highly attractive bottle among the world's wine lovers. According to Vinous, 13,008 bottles were produced, which seems like a very limited production, throwing one's mind towards Burgundy's micro-productions in a market where the demand for good Italian wine is steadily increasing.

This Is How It Went With Its Predecessor

The 2016 vintage has just been released, so there are no statistics on prices for this one. Therefore, it is essential to have a look at the 2015 vintage, which RareWine Invest has previously offered. Under the management of RareWine Invest, the 2015 Fuligni Brunello Montalcino Riserva has achieved a price increase of 17.6% since June 2021.

Wine-searcher.com can further help illustrate the upward trend of the 2015 Fuligni Brunello Montalcino Riserva. Across all offers of 2015 Fuligni Brunello Montalcino Riserva listed on wine-searcher.com, the average price has risen by a whopping 59.3% in just under two years.
